Plant Part: Leaves
Extraction Method: Steam Distilled, Organic
Origin: Australia

Quantity: 5 ml (weight: 28 g)

Description: This is from the globulus type of Eucalyptus trees.  The reason I get this type in is that the 1,8-Cineole that is common in all eucalyptus oils is the considerable amounts of that 1,8 cineole from 45 to 75%.  This is a great constituent if you’re an adult with sinus, cold or flu symptoms.  However not so for the children under ten whose lungs have not fully developed. These Young Leaves trees get steam distilled before the tree is 2 years old as the 1,8 cineole has not developed into the leaves at that point.  Therefore the cost on this type of eucalyptus is 4 times that of the usually inexpensive eucalyptus oils.

Cautions: Eucalyptus should be used in dilution, and if applying to the skin say the back during a cold for children under 10, dilute to ½%-1 % depending on age.  Mix with a natural body lotion or melt shea butter and add into dilution rate.

  • Common Uses: Commonly used in blends for children like my Defense Blend for kids, a version of a Thieves blend that is well known.  I also sell the oil on its own for parents to diffuse in the rooms of the children during colds and flu’s. I have it in my Chest Rub for Kids balm as well.
